Too often, we hear the objection that sustainability is too costly. This is especially the case when decisions about products that will finish the interior of the building are left to the end of the project and suffer the most from value engineering. At ecomedes, we wanted to explore this objection to see where the truth lay.
We engaged four amazing interns from Lehigh University and Notre Dame to dig deep into the Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) in our sustainability catalog and map the data for Global Warming Potential (GWP) against price data. The result is the analysis presented here. Like any good research, one question always leads to another, and there’s more data and more research to be done.
That said, this analysis certainly takes a step toward busting the myth. We especially hope you enjoy the Epilogue filled with sideline observations from our interns themselves.

Great article! It's refreshing to see a well-researched piece challenging the myth that sustainability is inherently more expensive. The analysis of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) and their correlation with Global Warming Potential (GWP) versus pricing offers some really insightful perspectives. It’s clear that, with the right approach, sustainable choices don’t always come with a higher price tag.
Sustainability should be a priority, not just for the environment but also for the future of our businesses. This piece not only sheds light on this but also opens the door for further research, which is always exciting.

Keeping finances in check while making smart decisions can be tricky, especially when credit reports don’t update as expected. Had an issue where a paid-off account was still showing as open, so I turned to https://transunion.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html for help. The process took longer than I thought, with multiple verification steps before they even looked into it. Eventually, the report was corrected, but it was a reminder to check credit details regularly—because if something’s wrong, fixing it isn’t always quick.
